Board of directors and advisory board
The commercial perspective that many boards are missing.
Many boards are strong on finance, law, governance and industry knowledge. They are weaker where growth is concerned: whether the strategy adds up commercially, whether the business model has a future, and how management can actually deliver the transformation. That is what I bring, out of my own operating and strategic experience.
Growth & Strategy implementation
Whether the strategy delivers, and the company can execute it.
Commercial Excellence
Customer focus, sales strength, go-to-market, pricing, commercial firepower.
Transformation & Leadership Team
How change succeeds, and whether the leadership team acts as a team.
Mandates and experience
Mandates in corporate structures and in SMEs, within the Swiss and German governance systems.
AEB SE (SaaS Software for Global Trade) (DE): Chair of the Advisory Board (since 2019).
Amcor Flexibles Singen GmbH (DE): Non-executive director (2017 – 2021).
Amcor Flexibles Kreuzlingen AG (CH): Non-executive director (2015 – 2021).
In addition: leadership roles one level below the executive board meant working with supervisory boards and boards of directors on a regular basis, so I know board dynamics from the management side as well.
Formally grounded through Mannheim Business School/Spencer Stuart Directors Forum. Member of the Swiss Board Forum and of the Swiss Institute of Directors.
My role on a board
Listen first, look closely, understand deeply. Then ask the questions, including the uncomfortable ones, and keep at them. Demanding, but respectful. Interested in people and in the system as the levers for the result. And in lasting effect, not the short-term one.
